CCC Student Emergency Assistance

Student assistance funds are contributed by donors and managed by the Paul B. Sharar Foundation for Clinton Community College and its Board of Directors. The funds are used to assist CCC students with needs that may prevent them from successfully completing their college courses at CCC.

Funds

Emergency Book Fund

This fund has been established by the CCC Paul B. Sharar Foundation to assist students with emergency book needs that impact their ability to be successful in the classroom.

Veteran’s Assistance Fund

With funding from the Iowa American Legion Foundation, the intent of this fund is to provide short term loans, grants and scholarships to veteran students for tuition, textbooks, fees and materials. This fund assists veteran students with financial needs while waiting for their books and fees stipend to be processed.

Ascentra Credit Union Student Emergency Assistance Grant Fund

In 2018 Ascentra Credit Union awarded a grant to the EICC colleges to assist students with emergency needs. These funds are to be used to help students with transportation and vehicle repair expenses, utilities, food, and medical expenses. The fund cannot be used for housing deposits, vehicle registration, insurance, prescription medications, tuition or books.

  • Students are eligible, while funding lasts, for a one-time grant of up to $500.
  • Checks will be issued directly to the vendor, or the college. No funds will be paid directly to the student.
  • Students are asked to provide a thank you explaining their story and the impact this assistance makes on their educational journey.
